Passports

Any Kenyan who wishes to renew or apply for the new digital e-passport is advised to submit in person his/her passport application documents.

Steps of application

  • Create and login to the e-citizen account and select Immigration services which will finally take you to passport application.

  • Read the instructions carefully then fill the application form 19 online.

  • Select the mode of payment and pay for the relevant passport fees.

  • Download and print the application form and three copies of the application Invoice (Receipt).

  • Submit the application form in person at the Immigration offices passport issuing centres (Nyayo house, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nakuru and Embu.)

  • Please Declare All Your Children during Passport Application

During the submission you need the following:

  • Applicants MUST appear in person for digital photo and biometrics capture.

  • An eCitizen pre-filled passport application form 19 and three invoices.

  • Original Birth Certificate and copy.

  • Original National ID Card & copy.

  • Three Current passport size photos.

  • Recommenders ID card copy.

  • Old passport for replacement plus copies of last three pages.

  • Parents National ID cards copies or Death Certificate if deceased.

  • For Lost case, a Sworn affidavit, a police abstract and an explanation letter on circumstances of the loss are required

  • For Mutilated case an explanation letter is required to explain the circumstances of the mutilation

 

NOTE

  • Ensure you are using your eCitizen account to apply for your own passport. Applications applied on behalf of others will be rejected

  • During submission, you must go with original documents and photocopies of the same.

 

NOTICE

  • The deadline for voiding the old passport has been extended up to 31st December, 2021. Kenyans holding the old passports have therefore been given up to 31st December, 2021 to acquire the new East African Community E-passport.

  • Starting 1st January, 2022, the old dark blue passport will be null and void, and NO Kenyan will be able to travel internationally without a valid East African Community biometric e-passport
